EPISODE ONE

[ The flight itself wasn't supposed to be too long - only six hours or so. And up until it all went sideways, it'd been fine; some of the kids had paired off, making small talk with those sat closest to them. Others kept to themselves, tuning out with headphones in or with books. A couple of boys a couple of seats from the front had fallen asleep on each other. Some faces were plastered to the windows, as if there was much else to see other than the vast expanse of ocean.

One minute it'd been smooth sailing, the next there'd been turbulence. And then that's worsened considerably, and it'd rapidly become transparently clear that they were taking a one-way, nose-first detour into the Pacific. Though perhaps by divine intervention or sheer, what're-the-odds chance, the plane had gone down a couple of miles from an island's shoreline.

Some woke up practically washed ashore, others weren't so lucky, left to flounder for any floating debris large enough to hold their weight. Regardless of where or how they woke up, one thing was abundantly clear. They were all equally, undeniably fucked. ]

Once again, there was that wave of hope that crested with Llewellyn saying he'd found other people, only to crash when the name that followed wasn't Connor's.

Fuck. Fuck.

This time, it was harder to keep the simmering dread and worry from his face, kept down only by his determination to not totally freak out on this guy he'd known all of five seconds. Pushing his hands through his hair, he turned away from Llewellyn for a minute to try and collect himself, to try and calm down despite how bad his head hurts. Maybe someone else had found him, maybe he was who one of the girls had found.

It took him a second to realise that Llewellyn had asked him a question, and just as long to actually shake his head to snap himself out of it long enough to answer him.

"Uh- Murphy. I'm Murphy."

Definitely the disappointed reaction he expected... Definitely not good. Today was a lot without the whole crushing weight of worry over your sibling. Llewellyn could relate, and he was trying really hard to not think about that. If he didn’t think about it, he could stay ahead of it... right? Which... Yeah, he needed to stop thinking about this and just start talking. Otherwise he was going to spiral, and that wouldn’t be helpful right now.

As tempting as it was.

So with the introductions out of the way, he awkwardly tried to at least... offer to help with the search. “Hey, Murphy, then. Uh— Just because I haven’t seen him doesn’t mean no one else has. Do you want to look with me?” He gestured in one of the directions he was pretty sure they hadn’t looked yet, at least he didn’t remember going that way. “We also have a designated meet up point... If we don’t find anyone else, we can go back there and see if any of the other’s had any luck.”
